In April 2025, Arizona law (HB 2484) required schools to adopt policies reducing student use of wireless communication devices during the school day. Pueblo High School supports this law to promote an engaging, distraction-free learning environment.
Classroom Expectations
FIRST OFFENSE: Student is directed to place the phone in the designated location. Teacher documents an Observation in Synergy and contacts parent/guardian. Continued first offenses are documented at teacher discretion.
SECOND OFFENSE: Includes repeated first offenses, dummy phones, or falsely claiming not to have a phone. Teacher submits a Minor Incident Report in Synergy. A Dean contacts the student and parent/guardian. Consequences may include ISI in accordance with the TUSD Code of Conduct.
THIRD OFFENSE: Includes refusal to surrender a phone or disrespect toward staff. Security, BIM, or a Dean may remove the student from class. Documentation of prior incidents is required. Consequences may include suspension under the TUSD Code of Conduct.
IMPORTANT: Depending on the student's behavior, administration may move directly from a first offense to a third offense when warranted.

- Electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, tablets, earbuds, and headphones) may not be used during class unless explicitly approved by the teacher for an instructional purpose.
- Students must bring their district-issued laptop daily.
- Phones must be placed in the classroom phone holder at the beginning of class.
- Devices may not be stored in backpacks, pockets, or on the student's person during class.
- Students may retrieve phones only when dismissed by the teacher at the end of class.
